Seville Weather in December: Monthly Temperature, Rainfall and More

Seville weather in December can be a bit tricky, especially if it’s your first time visiting.

While the sun is still warm and pleasant during the day, the indoors can feel surprisingly cold. The buildings in Seville aren’t well insulated, so even though it’s not freezing outside, it can feel like an igloo inside.

The TLDR; bring plenty of layers to switch between the warm sun, and the cold indoors. Rain is also possible, so bringing an umbrella is a good idea.

After going through several winters here, I can tell you that December is one of the toughest months. I find it difficult to regulate my body temperature – I’m constantly bouncing between being too hot or cold.

But don’t let that scare you off! I’m just a wimp when it comes to the cold.

Here’s what you can expect from the weather in Seville in December.

Is December A Good Time To Visit Seville?

Despite the challenges I find with the weather, it’s still a great time of year to visit Seville

Expect crisp, clear skies with plenty of sun – outside can feel very pleasant, especially if you find yourself a nice sunny spot to sit.

The air temperature is quite chilly, and if you’re not in the direct sun, you’ll want to dress warmly because it can be surprisingly cold indoors and in the shade. If you’re used to ice-cold winters, Seville hardly ever gets cold enough to freeze.

I’m acclimatised to the weather here, and like the locals, I’m all bundled up in my winter gear to handle the chill. Meanwhile, you’ll spot tourists from northern Europe casually strolling around in shorts and T-shirts.

The city comes alive with Christmas markets and lights. Seville in December is full of energy, with festive events happening everywhere.
