Everyone will tell you to skip Seville in August. Honestly, a lot of Seville agrees with them and leaves too. Shops shut for “vacaciones.” Locals decamp to the coast. The pace drops to something close to a standstill, and the heat is exactly as brutal as its reputation. None of that means you should avoid…
The best time to visit the Alcazar of Seville is either first thing in the morning or through the exclusive pre-opening tour that gets you inside before the public gates open. If you’ve seen the photos of wall-to-wall visitors in the Real Alcázar de Sevilla, you’re not being paranoid. The crowds are real. With over…
July is one of the hottest months of the year in Seville. Full stop. Seville’s weather in July is intense. Daytime temperatures regularly hit 36°C (97°F) and higher, the sun is relentless, and there is no rain to speak of. If you love real heat, July can be wonderful. If you struggle with it, this…
If you’re asking whether Seville is safe to visit, the short answer is yes. It’s one of the more relaxed cities in Spain, and most visitors have zero issues. That said, like any city with a high volume of tourists, there are a few things worth knowing before you go. I spent around six weeks…

I’ve lived here for several years now, and I still feel it every July. But after multiple Seville summers, I’ve…
Choosing where to stay in Seville is one of the most important decisions you’ll make when planning your trip. Get it right, and your base feels like a natural extension of the city. Get it wrong, and you could find yourself a taxi ride away from everything you actually came to see. I’ve lived in…
Looking for things to do in Seville in May? You’ve picked one of the best months to visit. May is the month I usually recommend to people who want Seville without the inferno of summer. You still get long golden evenings, gardens in bloom, terrace dinners, and a full calendar of local events, but you…
June is when Seville starts to feel like proper summer. The weather in Seville in June is hot, dry, and full of those long summer days that make the city feel alive well into the evening. If you’re someone who genuinely likes the heat, this is a great time to be here. The trade-off is…
