I see so many times in the forums people asking how many days do you need in Seville. The short answer – it depends. You’ll most likely be basing your decision on what things you want to see and do – and of course how long you have.

I’ve been living in this city for several years, and I’m still not bored of it, so of course I have a slightly skewed view purely because there’s just so much to see and do here.

So in this article, I’ve given several day-by-day breakdowns of what you can expect to see in a certain number of days. It covers all the must-visit spots so you can start planning your trip to Seville.

If you’re planning on visiting Seville, it’s good to know that the vibrant Andalucian capital is packed with plenty of things to see and do.

This travel guide is designed to help you map out your stay, sorted day by day, and importantly, help you figure out exactly how many days to spend in Seville.

Getting to Seville

Seville is well-connected. Fly directly into Seville Airport (SVQ), which is just outside the city. Then use one of the airport transfer options to get to the city centre.

Alternatively, the city is easily accessible by high-speed train arriving at Santa Justa train station. You can also arrive by bus at Plaza de Armas bus station.

Where to Stay in Seville

Basing yourself in the city centre is the best option for convenience. There are plenty of great neighbourhoods to stay in.

• If you’re looking for the best place to stay in Seville and want to splurge a little, I suggest staying at Seville’s famous Hotel Alfonso XIII. 
• For something a little more budget-friendly, then EME Sevilla Turistica is a great option.

Getting Around Seville

There are loads of options for getting around Seville.

For a start, Seville is an incredibly walkable city, and you’ll be able to reach most of the places I mention in this article by foot. The city is also flat with a really extensive bike lane network so cycling is another great option.

The city also has a decent local bus and tram service, or the hop-on hop-off tourist bus. There are also plenty of taxis and ride-sharing services.

One Day In Seville

Perhaps you’re planning a day trip to Seville from a neighbouring city, passing through as part of a road trip, or stopping off as a port of call on a cruise.

Although your time here is going to be a little rushed – and we certainly recommend spending longer – you’ll be able to see the main highlights of Seville in one day.

Seville One Day Itinerary

Morning: Visit the Real Alcázar, one of Seville’s UNESCO Heritage landmarks and famous for its intricate Mudéjar architecture. Then explore the Cathedral – one of the world’s largest Gothic complexes, the resting place of Christopher Colombus, and the adjoining La Giralda. Climb the Girlada Tower for panoramic city views.

Afternoon: Wander through the ancient and photogenic streets of Barrio Santa Cruz stopping for lunch at a local tapas bar, sampling classic Andalusian flavours. Then head to the Plaza de España and Maria Luisa Park and admire the tiled alcoves representing different Spanish provinces.

Evening: After a full days sightseeing, cap off your Seville 1 day visit with an authentic Flamenco show to experience the soul of Sevillian culture.

Two Days in Seville

Seville Two Day Itinerary

Day 1:

Morning: Tour the royal Real Alcázar, admiring its gardens and palatial rooms. Then visit the iconic Cathedral and La Giralda, and climb the bell tower.

Seville Three Day Itinerary

Day 1 and 2: Follow the two-day itinerary.

Day 3:

Morning: Our 3 days in Seville itinerary starts with taking a trip out to Italica Ruins, an ancient Roman city just outside of Seville – they are easy to get to by bus from Plaza de Armas Bus Station.

Afternoon: Cruise along the Guadalquivir River for a unique perspective of the city. If you’re looking for something more energetic, then enjoy the Guadalquivir River by Kayak or SUP instead.

Evening: Finish off your Seville 3 days trip by heading to some of the city’s top Rooftop Bars for a refreshing drink and stunning views.

Seville 4 Day Itinerary

With 4 days in Seville, you could opt to spread out the three day itinerary and enjoy the city at a more leisurely pace. Alternatively, take an easy day trip from Seville and enjoy either the coastal city of Cadiz or the gorgeous ancient city of Cordoba – it’s a tough choice – we adore both cities.

Seville Four Day Itinerary

Day 1-3: Follow the three-day itinerary.

Day 4: Take a day trip to either the historic city of Córdoba or the coastal city of Cádiz. Both offer unique experiences and are easily accessible from Seville by train, so you don’t even need to hire a car.

Seville 5 Day Itinerary

This Seville itinerary for 5 days suggestion covered everything on the four-day version. You could either opt to do two day trips and visit both Cordoba and Cadiz or stay in the city and discover some of the off-the-beaten-track places.

Seville Five Day Itinerary

Day 1-3: Follow the three day itinerary.

Day 4: Take the train to the historic city of Córdoba to enjoy a full day exploring its stunning architecture, including the Mezquita-Catedral and the Alcázar de los Reyes Cristianos.

OR explore the coastal part of southern Spain and head to the beach for a day in the coastal city of Cádiz. Relax on the golden sands, explore the charming old town, and sample some delicious seafood dishes.

Day 5: Explore some of Seville’s hidden gems. With the extra bit of time in Seville, you could do some further exploration of the city.

• One of my favourite areas – and underrated – is the area of Cartuja.

• Centro Andaluz de Arte Contemporáneo (Contemporary Arts Museum)

Other lesser-visited places in Seville I recomend checking out are:

• Torre de Perdigones (Tower of Perdigones) and the camera obscura at the top
• Jardines de la Buhaira – there is a stunning old palace (Palacio Neomudejar)located in this park that no one ever mentions – today it’s a civic building, but the exterior is still beautiful.
• The Pavillions from the 1929 Exhibition – my favourites are Peru, Morocco, Guatemala and Mexico.

A Week in Seville

If you have a week in Seville, you can follow the suggested itineraries for 3 or 5 days and add some extra activities in the city to explore it in more depth.

Alternatively, take an overnight excursion to Granada. Although in theory you can visit Granada in a day – we don’t recommend it, it’s really not long enough to do the city justice.

To visit the Alhambra alone is a full day in itself.

Option 2: Take a two-day trip to Granada. 

You can get there easily by bus or train. Journey times take around 3 hours each way (which is a big reason why we don’t recommend it as a day trip). With two days in Granada, you’ll be able to see the iconic Alhambra as well as the city.
